A live show has more moving parts than any other kind of event we run. There is a stage plot, an input list, a soundcheck window that is always shorter than everyone hoped, and a room that behaves differently once it is full. Live event production is the work of getting all of that to land at the same time.
Our live event services for bands all work the same way: every band booking is a full service rental. Our crew delivers the system, builds it for the room, tunes it to the room, mixes the show live and strikes it at the end of the night. The people running the console are ours, and the whole rig goes back out on our truck.
Audio, lighting and DJ support come from the same company on one quote and one load in, which is the difference between a show that soundchecks on time and three vendors introducing themselves in a loading dock at four in the afternoon.

Once a band is playing, the speaker package becomes an input list and a room to cover from it. Here is what our live event audio setup is made of, all professional grade gear from our own inventory and all of it run by our engineer.
Front of house sound for the room

Coverage comes first. A club room takes a pair of tops and subs, while a deep hall or an outdoor lot needs a line array speaker system so the back of the crowd hears the same mix as the front. Subwoofers go in for kick and bass guitar rather than for volume, and fills cover the seats beyond the main hangs.
Stage monitors and in-ear support

Bands play to what they hear on stage, so monitoring is the part that decides whether the performance is comfortable. We build separate mixes for vocals, drums and the players who need to hear each other, and we patch in-ear systems where the band already travels with them. More mixes means a longer line check, which is why we ask for the stage plot early.

Kick, snare, overheads, guitar and bass cabinets, keys and acoustic instruments on DI, and a vocal microphone for every singer plus one for whoever talks between songs. A live mix moves. The room absorbs high end as it fills, the singer works the microphone differently in the second set, and the guitar player turns up. Our engineer is on the console for the whole show, holds the level where the room and the venue can take it, and deals with a dead channel before the audience notices it.
Backline and stage gear

We carry the stage side pieces a show needs around the band's own instruments: stands, DI boxes, cabling, power distribution on the deck and the small parts that go missing at nine at night. If your show needs full backline such as a house drum kit or specific amplifiers, tell us in the advance and we will say honestly what we carry and what we would bring in.
Multi band nights and changeovers

Three bands on a bill is three input lists sharing one stage. We build the patch so the common channels stay put, line check the differences between sets, and keep the changeover to the length of the break rather than the length of a full setup. Send the running order with the stage plots and we will plan it around the doors time.

Concert production and ticketed showsHeadliners, support acts, promoter nights
A ticketed concert has a rider attached to it and a crowd that paid to hear the band properly. We advance the show against the rider, build front of house and monitors to the input list, and put an engineer on each end for the length of the night. Concert production in Dallas usually lives or dies on the advance, so the earlier we get the stage plot and the running order, the less of the day gets spent solving it on the deck.

Plenty of venues have a house system that was specified for background music and gives up the moment a full band plugs into it. We bring live venue AV in for the night: a system sized for the room, monitors for the stage, lighting so the band reads from the back, and our own engineer running it. Venues that book live music every week often keep us on a standing arrangement instead of renting piecemeal, which makes the load in shorter every time.

A wedding band or a private party act needs the same input list as a club show, in a room that also has to carry speeches and a first dance. A corporate program with a band at the end of it is two events in one room. The speeches, awards and presentation come first on podium and lapel microphones, and the same system turns into a stage rig for the act on the one load in. A church stage this year had the band playing above a floor-level dry ice cloud for a full set, fired on the downbeat, and a convention center stage in Dallas had a country band on DML500 flat panels over a BassBoss SSP118. Outdoors the sound has open air to fill, so coverage is a placement and array problem rather than a volume problem. We plan the throw for where the crowd will stand, keep the level off the property line where a permit says to, and build weather cover and power into the plan because a Texas afternoon does what it wants.

Campus live music runs on a tight window: the room is booked for something else in the morning and the crew is often students. Live event staging and production support
People searching for live event staging and production are usually asking one question: who is responsible for the stage end of the show. On our jobs that is us for everything that plugs in, and we say plainly where the line is.
We plan the stage layout with you, position the deck and the wings around coverage and sightlines, hang or stand the lighting positions, run power and cabling across the stage and set the backdrop lighting. Where a show needs the physical staging itself, risers, decking or a roof, that comes from a staging vendor and we advance it with them directly so the two plans match instead of colliding on the day.
What you get from us is one point of contact for the technical production: the stage plot, the input list, the lighting plot, the load in order and the schedule for the day. That is the piece most shows are missing when they call.
Stage lighting for a live performance
Lighting is what makes a band look like a show rather than a rehearsal. Front light so faces read from the back of the room, color washes across the stage, moving heads and effects for the parts of the set that want them, and haze so the beams have shape in the air. We program it to the set list where we have one, so the hits land on the beat all night.
The lighting plot gets built around the stage rather than dropped on top of it. Where the fixtures hang or stand, where the power comes from and how the cable runs across the deck are worked out alongside the speaker positions, so the lighting and the audio each have their own piece of ceiling on the day.
Small rooms get a front wash, a few movers and haze. A festival stage or a ticketed show gets a real plot with washes, beams, backlight and effects cued to the set. Either way it is quoted on the same job as the audio and built on the same load in by the same crew. Event lighting has the full picture, and uplighting covers the room around the stage.

Laser light show
Aerial beams and floor scans programmed to the set. Quoted after the venue signs off, with the safety zones worked out before anything is aimed.
Fog and haze
Haze is what gives every lighting beam a shape in the air. Venue approval and detector rules confirmed before the date so load in goes straight ahead.
Cold sparks
Indoor spark fountains for a walk on or the last chorus. We quote these only after the venue and the fire department have approved them.
Uplighting and washes
Color on the walls and the room, so the space around the stage belongs to the show instead of staying a beige hall.
Line array for a bigger room
An array up on stands for deep halls, ticketed shows and outdoor lots, where tops on sticks run out of throw before the sound reaches the back of the crowd.
A DJ between sets
Music through changeovers and after the band finishes, on the same system, so the room stays full of music between the acts.

Everything we bring goes back out on the truck. Wiring a venue with a permanent house system is an integration job and belongs with an installer. Ask us anyway and we will tell you who to call.
Photo and video coverage

Screens beside the stage
Large format video for a concert crowd comes from an LED wall, which we bring in through a vendor partner when you ask for it. Our projectors and screens are built for presentations and corporate rooms rather than for a band show.
